Stoke Mandeville
The design for this new ninety bed nursing and dementia care home in Stoke Mandeville is founded on integrating state of the art dementia accommodation with calming, external space provided by a series of private courtyards. These courtyards are easily accessed from the residents’ group wings and provide a calming environment for all – residents, staff and visitors. Key features of the scheme include dual aspect lounges with intimate winter gardens, splayed corridor spaces with natural light from ceiling light wells, focal walls with landscape imagery and private front gardens. The intention is to work with Stirling University to achieve the gold certification for excellence in dementia design.
