Hunters New Studio Space Complete

23/12/08

Hunters HQ in Hammersmith has undergone a refurbishment to create a light, airy and welcoming office and the Hunters team moved in today.

The eight month project has enabled improved IT functions, a variety of meeting/ crit spaces and more storage than staff can dream of. The aim was to create an open, welcoming environment to guests and staff, simple spaces and clean colours coordinate with a mix of raw and highly manufactured materials. The design aims to reflect the nature of the practice which is an eclectic mix of projects and people who are sociable yet professional.

Tranquil natural images have been used within the few enclosed spaces. The main office space has splashes of a warm and engaging yellow (recently chosen as Pantone Colour of 2009) on feature walls and blinds. The colour aims to spark the imagination and inspire innovation whilst also complimenting the black etched glass and the recycled wood reception desk, tying all the spaces together. Open plan desks to encourage interaction between individuals with ‘break-out’ spaces for informal meetings.

The reception has been designed to present a hospitable and welcoming environment with sofas and standard lamps to create a living room feel within an open-plan space. Guests can connect to the internet and there are tables and chairs for informal discussions. This space also doubles as a staff social area, the ‘traditional drinks cabinet’ is hidden behind the wall and each month presentations and office socials take place in this flexible area.
