Eastbourne Flats to 'Free-up' Family Homes go to Planning
9/12/09
A new housing scheme in the heart of Eastbourne has just been put into planning which provides contemporary living in a traditional Victorian seaside town.
The Hunters designed scheme reflects the progressive thinking in the resort to establish contemporary homes. Priority will be given to those who are currently under-occupying larger family housing, freeing up much needed family housing for the changing age ranges in the town. The proposal is for 100% affordable housing and includes twelve flats with one or two bedrooms. The scheme is located within 500m of Eastbourne railway station and is within walking distance of the town centres shops and restaurants. The site is owned by Eastbourne Borough Council and they have bid for Homes & Communities Agency funding to undertake this development themselves if planning is approved. This is one of three sites being project managed by Amicus Horizon that Hunters have designed on behalf of the local authority.
